  1. The Write Referee chimes in on the Downriver and Northwest Suburban Leagues

    The Write Referee

Should be very interesting to see how things shake out in the MEGA

Unless they get the idea that Howell Parker will ever open .... Dearborn to the KLAA might be a decent fit. I would usually schools in the same district to be in the same league ... but as long as they keep playing Fordson, I don't care if it's in the MEGA, KLAA or a non-league game.

I believe the KLAA has week #9 basically set up for rivalry games .... that would be a great week for Fordson/Dearborn heading into the playoffs.

  2. Lawsuit Threatens to Squash Downriver League?

Check The Write Referee blog for details...

With all these changes in conferences and the potential of lawsuits again involving MEGA teams... I'm also to the point of wanting to see the district setups like they have in Texas, simply schools put together by enrollment and geography just to make it simple. Then again Texas has a separate private school playoff so I guess that might not work here ... plus a lot of history to leave behind in some of the current leagues.

Why do these schools want to be involved in a conference that obviously does not want them in? If I were Lincoln Park, Melvindale, Robichaud and Romulus ... I would be out trying to recruit other area schools not currently involved in the new Downriver league to join in a completely separate conference.

    How about a league with

    Lincoln Park
    Melvindale
    Dearborn Hts. Robichaud
    Romulus

And try to recruit programs such as Inkster, Ecorse, Trenton, Redford Union, Thurston, Belleville, Ypsi, Crestwood, River Rouge, Highland Park etc.
